Knowledge, not opinions

About mrumi
The Polish-language internet about cats is mostly recycled myths, headlines written for the click, and “catteries” from classified-ad sites. Mrumi is the answer to that: a research-based cat magazine and the tools that follow from that research — a BARF calculator, a cattery map built from breeding-organisation registries, and articles with their sources named.
It is meant to be the place where a new owner will not feel stupid for asking something seemingly obvious, and a breeder will find tools for daily work. I take cats — and readers — seriously.

I ground my texts in scientific publications and veterinary-body guidelines — sources are listed with the article. Numbers come from the calculator, not from the gut.
Breeding is not a business. We build the directory only from breed-organization registries — FPL, WCF, TICA and national clubs. No classifieds.
Large type, plenty of white space, no pop-ups. This is meant to be a place you come back to with a cup of tea, not one you escape from.

Aleksandra Bogocz, PhD
Cats have been with me since I was a child — it all began with Micia, a black moggy. As a girl I dreamed of veterinary medicine, but in the end I chose chemistry and defended a doctorate. Looking back, that was no detour at all. It is precisely the ability to read scientific papers critically that the whole of mrumi rests on today.
I started a cattery of Siberian and Neva Masquerade cats together with my mother and my sister (my aunt in the Netherlands passed the passion on to me). Today my sister runs the cattery entirely, and I took to building the place I had missed in the Polish-language internet for years. A space where both owners and breeders get something solid, with the source attached. I write the texts myself; the calculator, the panels and the map I could not have built alone — on that side of mrumi I am not the only one.
Let me be clear: I am not a vet and I do not make diagnoses. I am a chemist who can analyse research — and can point out where the data ends and guesswork begins.
